President Donald Trump reportedly reacted with laughter during a briefing about allegations concerning Mojtaba Khamenei, according to a report published by the New York Post.
The report claims Trump was briefed by intelligence officials about personal allegations relating to Khamenei’s private life and reacted with surprise and amusement during the discussion.
According to the report, Trump was also told that Khamenei’s father, Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in a missile strike at the beginning of the Iran war, had concerns about his son potentially succeeding him. The Post reported that others present during the intelligence briefing also reacted strongly.
One senior intelligence official was quoted as saying they “had not stopped laughing about it for days,” while others in the room reportedly described the information as “hilarious.” Mojtaba Khamenei was reported to have succeeded his father as Iran’s supreme leader last week.
The article also cited claims that Khamenei had been in a long-term relationship with a childhood tutor and allegedly made advances toward men caring for him, though these allegations have not been independently verified. Officials from the White House have not publicly commented on the report.
