Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Accra Hearts of Oak have officially announced the mutual termination of their contract with striker Prince Kwabena Owusu.
In a statement released by the club, both parties agreed to part ways amicably, bringing an end to Owusu’s stint with the Phobians. The club expressed gratitude to the forward for his professionalism, dedication, and service during his time at the capital-based side.
Owusu joined Hearts of Oak with expectations of bolstering their attacking options. Although his time with the club had its challenges, he remained committed whenever called upon. Owusu appeared in 5 league matches of the current 2025/26 season and scored none with no assist as well as an attacker for the Phobians. However, during his time with Bibiani Goldstars, he scored 9 goals and assisted 2 in the 2023/24 league season with 29 league appearances.
His departure comes as part of the club’s ongoing efforts to restructure and strengthen the squad for the remainder of the season.
The Phobians also extended their best wishes to the striker as he embarks on the next phase of his career, hoping he finds success in his future endeavors.
This development marks another change within the Hearts of Oak setup as they continue to make adjustments aimed at improving performance in the competitive GPL.
