The 2026 Nigerian movie My Crazy Wife, starring Sonia Uche and Timini Egbuson, was released on March 19, 2026. It is a funny and relatable look at a young marriage facing the pressures of a first pregnancy.

The story starts in a busy market. Timini plays a hardworking meat seller, while Sonia is a stubborn, charming woman who often visits the market.

Their first meeting is anything but romantic they argue loudly over money and respect. But Timini can’t resist her “best smile in the market,” and after some persistence, they get married.

The main part of the film follows their life after the wedding, especially when Vera becomes pregnant. Her pregnancy brings out a “crazy” side: mood swings, strange cravings, and odd habits that test her husband’s patience.

Some standout moments include the cravings, where Vera wants specific foods at strange hours, like beans at midnight, then refuses them; the spitting, as she constantly spits into a container, which she can’t control, much to her husband’s disgust; and financial strain, with expensive demands, like a high-end baby stroller, creating tension about money and priorities.

Under all the laughs, the film tackles trust. Vera becomes insecure about her changing body, worrying her husband might cheat. A misread message on his phone escalates tensions and even leads her to ask for a divorce.

Sonia Uche shines in her role, moving effortlessly from a strong, fiery woman to a vulnerable, emotional wife. Timini Egbuson is equally convincing, showing a man doing his best to stay faithful. Their chemistry makes the ending feel earned and heartwarming.

My Crazy Wife is a Nollywood drama that mixes comedy with the real-life stress of marriage. Some scenes feel repetitive, but it delivers a clear message: pregnancy affects both partners, and patience and communication are key. By the end, the couple’s journey and growth feel real and satisfying.
