Enibo Albert, a Bayelsa farmer, has cried out after herdsmen and their cattle allegedly invaded her farm and destroyed all her crops.
The farmer stated that this is not the first time this has happened to her. She explained that the last time it happened and she came out on social media to complain about it, people told her that she was “shouting”.
She stated that nothing was done about her complaint and the herdsmen returned again and completely destroyed what was left of her crops.
Showing the damage done to her farm, she said:
“The destruction that these herders have caused right now is worse than I’ve ever seen. They’ve levelled, they’ve finished everything.
“I don’t know what else to say, I don’t know what to do, but I just want to let you know that they’ve finished everything that I have.
“Farming is my only source of livelihood. I don’t have anything else that I’m doing… They’ve finished everything. They came back and finished everything.
“I have no job, I have nothing. Farming is my only source of livelihood and government cannot protect it. Government has failed me, it has failed countless of farmers in Yenagoa.”
