An 8-year-old boy has tragically died after drowning in a pond at Degede, a suburb of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.
According to reports, the young boy allegedly went to a nearby pond with other children when the incident occurred.
It is alleged that during play, he was pushed into the water by a fellow child, leading to his drowning.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that another child later ran to inform adults that the boy had fallen into the pond and was unable to resurface in time for rescue.
Emergency efforts were made after the alarm was raised, but the child was reportedly pulled from the water unresponsive and was later confirmed dead.
