Global music icon Celine Dion is preparing for an emotional return to live performances, marking a major milestone in her recovery journey.
The award-winning singer is set to headline a special concert residency in Paris, with shows scheduled to run from September 12 to October 14 at Paris La Défense Arena. The upcoming performances will be her first major appearances since she stepped away from the stage due to health challenges.
Dion had earlier disclosed in December 2022 that she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare condition that causes muscle stiffness, painful spasms, and increased sensitivity to sound and touch. The diagnosis forced her to cancel her planned 2023 tour as she focused on treatment and recovery.
In a recent video shared on her social media to celebrate her 58th birthday, the singer offered fans a hopeful update about her condition. According to her, she has made significant progress and is gradually returning to activities she loves.
“I want to let you know that I am doing great, managing my health. I’m feeling good, I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing,” she said.
She also took a moment to appreciate the unwavering support she has received from fans around the world throughout her health struggles.
“Over the last few years, every day that came by, I felt your prayers and support. Your kindness and love. Even in my most difficult times, you were there for me. You’ve helped me in ways that I can’t even describe. I am truly so fortunate to have your support. I have missed you so much,” Dion added.
Reflecting on her upcoming return, the singer described the Paris residency as a deeply meaningful experience and something she is eagerly looking forward to.
“This year, I am getting the best gift of my life. I am getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris. Beginning in September this year. I am so happy, I am so ready to do this. I am feeling good and strong,” she said.
Her return to the stage is being seen as a powerful moment not just for her career, but also as a testament to resilience and determination in the face of a challenging medical condition.
