According to a report by The Nation Thursday, April 23, 2026, Senator Ayodele Arise, a well-known figure within the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, has discussed his intention to return to the Nigerian Senate in the 2027 general elections.
He made the comments during an engagement in Abuja, where he reflected on his previous service in the legislature and his renewed political ambition.
During the discussion, he was asked about the message he intended to pass to his constituents, especially given that he had previously sought to represent them.
The question emphasized that the electorate was already familiar with his experience and capacity, and sought clarity on what he was currently offering to them in terms of representation and direction.
In his response, Arise drew from his personal experience in the community, using it as a reference point to explain changes he has observed over time.
He recalled that when he built his house in 2006, he acquired a parcel of land at a relatively low cost, which he presented as a baseline for comparing how the area has evolved.
He further explained that the landscape of the town has changed significantly, particularly with the development of a major road passing through it.
According to him, the infrastructure growth has led to a sharp rise in land values, turning areas that were once affordable into highly expensive locations measured in millions of naira.

He described this transformation as part of the broader prosperity he associates with his influence and involvement in the area’s development trajectory.
He indicated that the increase in land value and the visible improvements in infrastructure reflect positive economic shifts that residents can recognize in their daily lives.
Arise also pointed out that his connection with the people remains strong, stating that he continues to receive expressions of support from many constituents.
He suggested that this ongoing goodwill is tied to the changes and development he believes have taken place within the community during his period of public engagement.
He said, When I built my house in year 2006, I bought the land for N50,000. Today, the straight road passing through the town, you can’t see any plot of land that is less than N15 to N20 million. That is the prosperity that I take to my people. As a matter of fact, every day, they wake up, they pray for me.”
