The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has advised members of his congregation to share his phone number with kidnappers in the event that they are abducted, insisting that he possesses spiritual authority to intervene and secure their release.
According to a report by The Punch on Friday, April 24, 2026, Bishop Oyedepo made the statement during a recent church service held at Canaanland, the headquarters of Living Faith Church in Ota, Ogun State. A video of the sermon later circulated widely on social media, where it gained significant attention and reactions from the public.
In the viral clip, the cleric was heard instructing his congregation that if they ever find themselves in the hands of kidnappers, they should not hesitate to provide his contact details to their captors. He emphasized that such an action could trigger divine intervention.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number,” he told the congregation during the service.
To support his claim, Oyedepo shared two separate accounts of what he described as miraculous interventions involving kidnapped members of his church. In the first account, he recounted a situation involving a pastor who was abducted. According to him, the kidnappers were given his phone, after which he issued a warning that the abductors would die within 24 hours if the pastor was not released.
He claimed that the environment became tense following the warning, suggesting that the situation was spiritually charged and eventually led to the pastor’s release.
In another account, Oyedepo narrated the experience of a female church member who was reportedly kidnapped. He said she declared by faith that she would be released by 7 a.m., and according to him, events unfolded in a way that led to her freedom without any direct negotiation with the kidnappers.
The bishop further encouraged his members to recognize what he described as their spiritual authority, insisting that believers have been elevated above any form of evil force.
He also stated that failure of the church to confront such challenges would be unacceptable, adding that members must understand and activate their spiritual power.
The sermon, which was shared under the hashtag #SupersonicSunday by the church’s media team, continued to generate discussions after the video began trending online.
