Nigerian skitmaker and content creator Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, has revealed that she has undergone an egg-freezing procedure, sharing her experience publicly as part of an effort to educate and inspire other women.
The influencer disclosed the development in a video posted on her Instagram page, where she documented the process and explained the reasoning behind her decision. According to her, the move was driven by a desire to avoid rushing into marriage due to societal pressure tied to age and motherhood.
Ashmusy, who recently turned 30, described the step as one of the most important decisions she has made, noting that it gives her peace of mind about her future as a mother.
“Join me to freeze my eggs!! Wow. This is by far one of the best decisions I have made, because it will secure my future as a mother, which is very important to me,” she wrote.
She credited the medical facility that handled the procedure, expressing satisfaction with the professionalism and smoothness of the entire process. The skitmaker also encouraged other women considering similar options to explore fertility preservation without fear or stigma.
“I’m just so glad they exist. Now I can calm down and choose right… I genuinely recommend them to every woman or mother wannabe. They can be your solution for whatever. So professional, so smooth, so perfect!!!” she added.
Clarifying misconceptions, Ashmusy explained that only her eggs from a single cycle were preserved, not any part of her body, stressing that she can still conceive naturally at any time.
“Please note that my eggs from one cycle were frozen, not my organs. I can still conceive anytime, even right now (with or without using the eggs). This procedure is to secure my future,” she stated.
Her announcement sparked reactions from fellow celebrities and fans, many of whom commended her for speaking openly about fertility and reproductive choices.
Actress Juliet Ibrahim praised her decision, writing, “Proud of you, Hun! Great choice. Let me contact them sharply.”
Etinosa Idemudia also described the video as enlightening, commenting, “This was so educational,” while Jasmine Okafor reacted humorously, predicting “triplets triplets.” Other personalities, including Dorcas Fapson and Sindodo Tayo, also showed support, with many describing the move as wise and forward-thinking.
Ashmusy has often been in the spotlight for her candid takes on life, success, and relationships. In previous interviews, she revealed details about her financial success as a content creator, stating that her monthly earnings can range between ₦5 million and ₦65 million.
Despite her financial independence, she has also been vocal about her expectations in relationships, noting that she still desires a partner who can offer support beyond what she provides for herself.
The influencer has also shared her personal struggles growing up, recounting how she lived in a cramped one-room apartment with her mother and several others. She explained that she often borrowed items like hair and clothing to maintain appearances while pursuing opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Ashmusy further disclosed that she attended numerous auditions—including for Big Brother Naija—before eventually finding success through social media content creation. She has consistently denied engaging in inappropriate relationships to advance her career, addressing past rumours linking her to prominent figures.
Her decision to freeze her eggs adds to her growing list of bold and unconventional choices, reinforcing her message about self-determination and planning ahead.
By sharing her journey, Ashmusy hopes to encourage more open conversations around fertility, particularly among women who may feel pressured by societal timelines. She emphasized that having control over one’s reproductive choices can provide both freedom and confidence in making life decisions.
Her story has since become part of a broader conversation about modern womanhood, career priorities, and the evolving options available for family planning.
