Authorities in Kirinyaga County have arrested a 25-year-old man for the alleged murder of his father in Karumandi, located within Gichugu Constituency.
Gichugu sub-county Police Commander Johnson Wachira confirmed the incident.
The suspect, Muchira Murage, was reportedly engaged in a confrontation with his 44 year-old father, Boniface Murage, before killing him.
According to the police chief, the suspect used a sharp panga to laughter his dad before draining blood into the buckets.
Distressed relatives, including his stepmother Mumbi Murage, recounted that the altercation stemmed from a dispute over a chicken.
He was spotted draining the deceased blood into a bucket, raising questions whether he intended to consume his father’s blood.
He was later arrested after neighbours alerted the police, and he is currently being held under police custody as investigations starts.
The body of the deceased has been transported to Kibugi Funeral Home, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
