MaryHill Girls’ School, Thika is mourning following a tragic incident that occurred during a field trip.
It has been reported that one of the Form Two students lost her life and others severely injured after being run over by school bus.
The incident took place when students from the school had traveled to Maragua for a co-curricular event.
The girls were reportedly run over by a school bus while the driver was reversing the bus.
One of the victims died on the spot and other three who were injured were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
While investigations are currently underway to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident, initial reports suggest that the tragedy befell the students as they were preparing to depart and return to school.
The student was among a group of St John Ambulance members who had been assigned to provide support for a function organized at Pioneer High School.
