A British woman, Rachel Kerr, has been reported missing after she was last seen leaving a nightclub in Agadir over the weekend.
The 31-year-old from Maddiston, Falkirk was in Morocco on a short work trip when she disappeared. According to her family, she had been staying at the Caribbean Village hotel but checked out on Saturday, after which all contact was lost and her phone was switched off.
A friend said she was last seen at around 5am on Saturday at a venue identified as Smart Nightclub. Concerns for her safety have grown, with reports suggesting she had run out of money prior to her disappearance.
Family members and friends have issued urgent appeals on social media, asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward. Her brother reportedly travelled to Morocco to help search for her.
There are also unverified claims from acquaintances that she may have been in a vulnerable state before she went missing, and some individuals familiar with the area have raised concerns about safety issues around the nightclub.
Authorities are now involved in the search, while the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office confirmed it is supporting the family. The search for Rachel Kerr is ongoing.
