Tabitha wanjiku a mother of five has narrated how her husband asked her to take medicine so that she can live, days after she quit her marriage without knowing she was infected with HIV.She went for a test only for the results to come out positive.
According to tabitha is that after she completed form four she went to her sisters place in Githurai were she met a man,they got into a relationship but after she got pregnant the man ran away and she had to go back to her parents house.
After she gave birth she went back to Githurai to look for a job and while working she met a man who promised to marry her with her kid,she was later blessed with twins and other two kids.
She says that her husband was not a responsible father since sometimes he was not providing food for them and his work was to take alcohol and spend money on women.
Tabitha says that the day she decided to quit her marriage was when her husband came home with his side chick at night and beat her up and injured her hand with a kitchen knife,she went back to her parents house with her kids.
She says that two days after she left her husband texted her on her phone that she should take medicine so as to live,she was very shocked and went for a test only for the results to come out that she is HIV positive.
Tabitha says that it was hard for her to accept that she was positive but through counseling she accepted the fact she will take medicine for the rest of her life and now she works very hard to feed and educate her kids.
She had urged people ple living with HIV to accept the fact that they will forever be on medication and never lose hope in this life.
