Media personality,Media personality, Toke Makinwa has heavily criticized Sandra Edoho, the estranged wife of TV host Frank Edoho, for using a past public dispute about an interior decor job to calm singer Chike’s fears in a leaked audio conversation.
In the viral audio recording purportedly between Sandra and Chike, the singer expressed concern that their alleged romantic involvement could negatively impact his business, as many of his clients are married. To reassure him, Sandra—who runs an interior design firm—referenced a 2019 incident where Toke publicly called her out on social media for a poorly executed design project at her home. se (Read here, here and here)
Sandra claimed that instead of destroying her reputation, the public backlash actually attracted a major client and boosted her social media following.
‘’I will give you an example. One time in my career when I worked with Toke Makinwa. I did Toke’s two homes. I did the first home”
Chike then asked “you worked for her?” to which Sandra responded
‘’Not for her! She can’t afford me! Me work for Toke Makinwa, how?! So when I worked for her project, did her first house. Three years later she came back and we were doing the second house and there were issues that she complained about and it escalated because she came to social media to rant about it.
Do you know that at that point, it felt like that she spoilt my busines because I had an image or a brand of people thinking everything was perfect and she came on social media to scatter it. That was when I knew that people in my industry had major beef for me because that was when everyone had a billion and one thing to say about how they perceived me, even people that had not met me.
My highest paying client came out from that rubbish. That is this guys house, This is his second home I am doing for him. My highest paying client came out of all that mess. He said if this is the rubbish you did for Toke, do it for me. He asked what happened and I explained ‘a little issue that could have been sorted behind the scene and she decided to call me out because I fking blocked her. I was in Miami and she was blowing up my phone and I blocked her and she felt slighted.
His first house was his Ikoyi. I didn’t just do his house. He gave me his friend’s other house. I got two projects from that craziness. What am I trying to say? I am not saying if this comes out you may have the backlash but everything will still work in your favor. I am a huge believer of that. Your career will not go down. You may have backlash because all your enemies will come out. It was a tough time for me. I upped my game. At the end of the day when I put up my new project, I got more followers and the same people were saying this is nice, this is nice. I remembered you from that Toke matter. I followed you from that Toke matter”
Reacting to the leaked conversation, Toke Makinwa lambasted Sandra for weaponizing their previous business issues.
The audio leak surfaced amidst a highly publicized marital crisis involving Frank Edoho and his estranged wife, with both sides trading accusations of infidelity and marital abuse.
