Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has issued a strong warning to a social media user after false claims surfaced suggesting she had a romantic involvement with popular singer Bella Shmurda.

The post, which appeared on X earlier this week, alleged that Jombo and Shmurda had a relationship back in 2021, prior to the singer’s rise to prominence in the Nigerian music industry.

Reacting swiftly, Jombo dismissed the accusation as entirely untrue and demanded that the post be removed immediately.

In a pointed statement, she made it clear that she would not tolerate misinformation being spread about her personal life. She warned the user, emphasizing the seriousness of making false claims online, and noted that ignoring her warning could have legal consequences.

“This is how people think everything online is just clickbait until it lands them in serious trouble. Delete this lie immediately. I do not take such matters lightly.

If you cannot respect my name, at least respect my age. This is your final warning: remove my name and image from your post,” she wrote.

Jombo’s response highlights a growing concern among public figures over online rumors and the damage they can cause to reputations.

In recent years, social media platforms have become fertile ground for the spread of false narratives, leading to personal and professional consequences for those targeted. By taking a firm stance, Jombo is signaling that she will take all necessary steps to protect her integrity.

Legal experts note that celebrities in Nigeria have increasingly turned to the courts to address defamatory content online, especially when allegations are unverified or malicious.

In cases like this, the affected party can seek both the removal of the content and compensation for reputational harm, reinforcing the importance of responsible posting on social media platforms.

As Jombo continues her career in Nollywood, which spans acting, producing, and endorsements, she remains focused on her professional achievements while refusing to let unfounded claims overshadow her work.

Fans and colleagues have expressed support for her decision to address the situation publicly, noting that celebrities should not be silent when falsehoods threaten their image.

This incident serves as a reminder of the power of social media and the potential consequences of spreading unverified stories.

Uche Jombo’s assertive response underscores the importance of accountability online and serves as a cautionary tale for those who share content without verifying facts.
