“Afrobeats Is Declining” – Omah Lay Says As He Releases ‘Clarity Of Mind’ Album

Nigerian singer Omah Lay said that Afrobeats is losing some of the strong momentum it once had, especially in Western countries.

Omah Lay made the remark during his Lagos Warehouse Session on Thursday night, shortly after releasing his new album, Clarity of Mind.

According to him, the huge attention Afrobeats enjoyed overseas a few years ago is no longer as strong as it used to be.

The singer explained that he has spent time studying the artists he looks up to while searching for a way to help restore the energy in Nigeria’s music scene.

He added that his new music will push many of his fellow artists to sharpen their sound and help return Afrobeats to its former global strength.

“Overseas, Afrobeats is declining. It’s facts. Our artists are doing really great but the Afrobeats that you guys used to know in 2020-2024, is not the Afrobeats you know now anymore.

“There has been a decline and I have just been waiting and learning and watching my idols and looking for a way to bring back the energy.

“Clarity of Mind is going to be a statement to wake our artists up,” Omah Lay said.

KanyiDaily recalls that Omah Lay recently sparked conversation online after revealing he returned to Christianity following a period of exploring Islam.
