According to NewsVista, Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has taken a fresh swipe at his longtime political rival, Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of bitterness, corruption, and hypocrisy.
Speaking during a fiery interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Wike claimed Amaechi’s anger stems from seeing him drive a Rolls-Royce. “So what if I use a Rolls-Royce?” Wike said. “He collected his own from a contractor — that’s a bribe. I didn’t.”
Wike also threw shade at Amaechi’s recent comment that his wife is “almost an industrialist,” alleging she secured government contracts while he was in power. Though he presented no documents, Wike insisted she had deals to train Niger Delta women during Amaechi’s time as minister.
Taking things further, Wike challenged President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). “Let the President help Nigerians. If what I’m saying isn’t in the report, I’ll resign as FCT Minister,” he vowed.
He didn’t stop there — Wike even questioned Amaechi’s education, claiming he failed to graduate from Rivers State University.
The two former governors of Rivers State have been locked in a bitter rivalry for years, and with corruption scandals like the NDDC audit still unresolved, the war of words shows no signs of ending.
