An X user has shared a troubling experience from her tailoring apprenticeship, sparking conversations online.
According to her, the incident began when a fellow apprentice, who is married, came late to work and was asked by their boss to kneel down as punishment.
She said she stepped in to question the decision, arguing that it was disrespectful to ask a married woman to kneel, but things quickly escalated.
The boss allegedly sl@pped her and told her to stop coming to the shop, accusing her of being disrespectful,
Following the incident, she said she requested a refund of the ₦160,000 she had paid for six months of training, noting that she had only spent about three weeks there.
However, she added that people around her are advising her to apologise instead of demanding her money back, saying that such treatment is “normal” in the apprenticeship system.
