Are You Telling Me That You Hold PDP Meetings, Then You Exclude Me, And You Want To Survive? No–Wike

According to our reporter, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed outrage over being sidelined in recent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meetings, warning that such exclusion threatens the survival of the party.

Speaking during a media interaction with journalists in Abuja on Friday, October 24, 2025, Wike dismissed reports linking him to plans for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s return to presidential politics, calling the claims “baseless and fabricated.” He clarified that Jonathan has never discussed any political comeback with him, insisting their relationship is purely based on mutual respect, not political strategy.

Wike, however, used the moment to lash out at PDP leaders, especially the governors, for what he described as “arrogance and disrespect” toward party elders. “Are you telling me that because I’m not a governor, you go and hold PDP meetings, call them stakeholders, and then exclude me—and you want to survive? No way!” Wike fumed.

According to our correspondent, Wike accused the current PDP leadership of ignoring long-serving members who sacrificed for the party’s growth, warning that such practices could lead to its total collapse. He urged for inclusiveness, unity, and respect for all members, regardless of their positions, if the party hopes to rebuild its credibility ahead of future elections.

Despite his criticism, Wike reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, saying his comments were meant to inspire reform, not rebellion. “I remain committed to the progress of this party,” he said, adding that fairness and honest dialogue are the only paths to restoring PDP’s lost glory.
