Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has continued to speak candidly about her turbulent marriage to estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. On her Instagram page, Daniels addressed the misconceptions surrounding her, revealing that she often lived under the shadow of being a “big man’s wife” but remains unapologetically proud of her choices.
“One last thing, y’all might not know me well because you never got to, and I hid under the camouflage of a big man’s wife, but I’m extremely shameless with pride and can accept the worse name as long as it’s not sleeping around with men. Isn’t it beautiful that in 7 years, a serial cheat never accused me of cheating? In life, it’s not about how far, but how well,” she wrote.
Daniels also addressed her early pregnancy and the circumstances that led to her quick marriage with Nwoko. She revealed that she had to terminate the pregnancy without her mother’s consent, with the support of a close friend, Ann — a decision that, according to Daniels, now earns Nwoko’s disapproval.
Several individuals close to the situation have offered additional insights into the marriage. Actress Doris Ogala had hinted at Nwoko’s controversial sexual preferences, warning against marrying men who indulge in threesomes and women-to-women sexual acts. Ogala also alleged that a former Big Brother Naija housemate caught the senator using cocaine.
Regina’s brother, Sweezy, has similarly accused Nwoko of manipulating his wives against each other, claiming the senator attempted to get both Regina and his other wife, Laila, pregnant simultaneously. When Regina refused, he allegedly pressured her into drug use.
Responding to Nwoko’s claims about her drug use, Daniels highlighted the contradiction in his actions. She stated that it was actually at Nwoko’s encouragement that she experimented with substances to appear “sexier, wild, and romantic.” She challenged him to reveal how he allegedly forced himself on her, confiscated her phones, and labeled her mentally unstable whenever she expressed a desire to leave the relationship.
In a separate post, Daniels admitted that her involvement with drugs was influenced by her husband’s demands and questioned the notion that she was a habitual user before their marriage. “When I married Ned at 17, was I on drugs?” she asked rhetorically, emphasizing that her actions were shaped by the pressures of the relationship rather than personal choice.
Through her posts, Regina Daniels has sought to set the record straight about her marriage, refuting claims of infidelity and shedding light on the challenges she faced while married to the senator. Her revelations continue to fuel public discussion about the private lives of high-profile couples and the pressures that come with fame and wealth.
