prophetic leader Primate Elijah Ayodele has cautioned President Bola Tinubu and security authorities against actions that could invite foreign military intervention, stressing that such a move would strain Nigeria’s military and threaten national sovereignty.
In a recent Facebook video, Ayodele urged the government to prioritize the safety of serving troops, emphasizing that negotiations compromising their lives would be detrimental. “So don’t negotiate the life of these soldiers,” he said, highlighting the importance of maintaining the morale and operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
The cleric issued a pointed warning regarding potential international involvement, specifically mentioning the United States. “Don’t… if America comes, Tinubu, it’s not going to be an easy thing,” Ayodele noted, indicating that foreign intervention could have serious consequences for Nigeria. He added that the military could face considerable strain in such scenarios, potentially weakening the nation’s defence system.
Ayodele also highlighted the broader implications for Nigeria’s global standing, stating that foreign interference could damage the country’s reputation and sovereignty. “It will weaken the name Nigeria. And Nigeria will not be Nigeria again,” he said.
He further warned that hostile elements are already operating within the country, reinforcing his call for careful government action.
