Bandits: What is he afraid of? Until they come to Aso Rock and flush him out of the place?- Olawunmi

According to our report, Commodore Kunle Olawunmi (retd.), former Deputy Director of Defence Administration, has raised serious concerns over the Federal Government’s handling of alleged sponsors of terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria.

Speaking with The Punch, Olawunmi questioned why key suspects appear to move freely despite prior government claims of their involvement. “What is he afraid of? Until they come to Aso Rock and flush him out?” he asked, urging President Bola Tinubu to confront the issue decisively rather than be paralyzed by political correctness.

He warned that tolerating these actors could make governance unmanageable, noting some are already positioning for 2027 and boast about manipulating political outcomes. Olawunmi called for intelligence chiefs to identify both domestic and foreign sponsors, stressing that arresting and prosecuting them could reduce terrorism in Nigeria by about half.
