According to a NewsVista correspondent, former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has officially pitched his political tent with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) — a fast-rising coalition platform gaining attention ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ihedioha, while addressing members of his Rebuild Imo Movement at his Owerri residence on Thursday, July 3, boldly declared:
“My party, your party, our party is now ADC. That is the way to go.”
The ex-governor, who quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over a year ago, had remained politically quiet until now. But his return to active politics aligns him with a growing list of heavyweights rallying around the ADC, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Abubakar Malami.
Ihedioha urged his supporters across Imo’s 305 wards to fully mobilize under the ADC structure, emphasizing that the movement is grassroots-driven and people-oriented.
He was also present at the high-profile unveiling of the ADC coalition in Abuja, where David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola were introduced as interim national leaders.
This move signals a serious shift in Nigeria’s political landscape, with the new bloc vowing to unseat President Bola Tinubu’s APC in the 2027 polls.
