Hollywood is set to honour the late actor Chadwick Boseman with a posthumous star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, five years after his tragic passing.

The beloved Black Panther star, who died in August 2020 at the age of 43 after a private, four-year battle with colon cancer, continues to be remembered globally for his talent, legacy, and the cultural impact of his work.

According to reports, the ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 20, at 6904 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, and will be attended by industry greats who worked closely with Boseman.

His widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, is expected to accept the honour on his behalf. The emotional moment will also feature tributes from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, his final film released before his passing.

Ana Martinez, the Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, described the honour as a meaningful celebration of a man whose influence transcended film. In her words, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.”

Boseman became a global icon in 2018 after bringing Marvel’s King T’Challa to life in Black Panther, a film that broke cultural barriers, smashed global box office records, and influenced an entire generation. However, his journey to stardom began long before Wakanda.

He portrayed several historic Black figures, including Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get On Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall.

Even as his health quietly declined, Boseman continued to work, filming major projects such as Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom between surgeries and chemotherapy sessions an act that left fans worldwide in awe of his strength and dedication.

His death in 2020 shocked millions, as neither the public nor most of his colleagues were aware of his illness. Boseman chose to keep his struggle private, continuing to work, advocate for representation, and inspire young fans across the world. His resilience, humility, and passion for storytelling earned him deep respect within and outside Hollywood.

The Walk of Fame honour is especially significant as it immortalizes his contributions at a site that celebrates global entertainment legends. For fans, colleagues, and the Black community, the recognition serves as a reminder of what Boseman represented: excellence, dignity, and purpose.

His legacy remains visible in every young actor he inspired, every fan who found strength in his roles, and every filmmaker who followed his footsteps in creating culturally rich narratives.

Chadwick Boseman may no longer be here physically, but his impact echoes louder than ever. As Hollywood prepares to unveil his star, the world is once again reminded that heroes live on not only on screen, but in the hearts they touched.
