Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, has shared how she became Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s running mate despite the governor barely knowing her personally. According to our reporter, Odu explained that Fubara had only seen her on television before her nomination.
She recounted that years earlier, Fubara had been treated by her husband, an ENT specialist, forming a warm bond described as father and son. Impressed by her husband’s professionalism and compassion, Fubara later trusted Odu’s nomination, saying, “a good man would have a good wife.”
Odu added that she committed to fully supporting the governor’s administration after her selection. According to our reporter, her story highlights how personal connections and trust played a key role in shaping political decisions.
