Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot has shared more opinions on the ongoing standoff between the club and forward Mohamed Salah.
In the wake of Salah criticizing the club for “throwing him under the bus” after not featuring in the starting lineup in three straight games, the Egyptian forward wasn’t included in the team’s travelling party to Italy for the UEFA Champions League tie against Inter Milan.
Liverpool beat Inter Milan 1-0 courtesy a converted penalty kick by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 88th minute. The win means Liverpool haven’t lost in four games since Salah was moved out of the starting lineup.
After commending his team’s defensive performance in the win over Inter Milan, Slot stirred up more controversy regarding Salah’s future at the club by stating to Amazon Prime.

“Everyone makes mistakes in life but does the player [Mohamed Salah] know he’s made a mistake? Should the initiative come from him or me? That’s another question.”

Liverpool take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the EPL next on Saturday, December 13.
