The lawmaker called on Nigeria to collaborate with Washington to protect vulnerable citizens and stop the bloodshed, echoing Trump’s previous statements that Nigeria poses an “existential threat” to Christianity due to extremist attacks.
Trump has reportedly instructed the Pentagon to explore military options to safeguard Christian communities, while Congress investigates the crisis. Nigerian authorities, however, insist that all citizens enjoy religious freedom and reject claims of targeted persecution, emphasizing the need to protect national sovereignty amid growing international scrutiny.
