Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the upcoming June 20, 2026 election, following his affirmation as the party’s consensus candidate.
A total of 885 delegates from the 177 wards across the state unanimously endorsed Oyebanji during the primaries held at the Ekitikete Pavilion, Ado Ekiti, on Monday.
The motion for his affirmation was moved by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and seconded by the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye.
In his remarks, Oyebanji thanked APC members and Ekiti residents for their support, promising to sustain his administration’s developmental agenda. “We will continue to deliver on our contract with Ekiti State,” he said.
