Guber Candidates to Pay ₦50 Million Each for Campaign Permits — ANSAA

All 16 governorship candidates contesting in the upcoming Anambra 2025 governorship election are required to pay ₦50 million before commencing their campaigns across the state.

The Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) made this known during a press conference on Wednesday in Awka. The agency’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, stated that the fee applies to all political parties, including the ruling party candidate, Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

“The permit comes with a statutory fee of ₦50,000,000, payable to the Anambra State government account,” Ujubuonu said.

He explained that the campaign fee covers the right to display campaign posters, erect billboards, use branded vehicles, distribute vests and caps, and conduct rallies across the state’s 21 local government areas.

Ujubuonu emphasized that the policy aims to ensure fairness and order during the electioneering process:

“What we have done is to maintain professional standards in the use of public advertising. This permit is to ensure orderliness, prevent visual pollution and create a level playing ground for all parties.”

He clarified that the agency was established by law in 2010 to regulate outdoor advertising and ensure responsible deployment of campaign materials.

Meanwhile, campaigns officially kicked off on Wednesday following the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The Anambra governorship election is scheduled for November 8, 2025, with 16 political parties fielding candidates.
