Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has recounted a startling experience from his pastoral ministry involving a woman who admitted that her children were fathered by her boss rather than her husband.
The pastor shared the story during a recent sermon streamed on YouTube, while teaching about spiritual maturity and the responsible use of prophetic gifts. According to Fatoyinbo, the incident occurred years ago when a couple sought counseling. “God told me that the child they brought did not belong to the husband,” he said. “So I asked the man to excuse us and spoke privately with the wife. She admitted it and said, ‘Yes, my boss in the office.’”
Fatoyinbo explained that the experience underscored the importance of administering spiritual gifts with discretion and emotional maturity. “If I wasn’t mature, I could have said it in front of the husband,” he noted. “Prophecy should be delivered with wisdom. There’s administration in the operation of spiritual gifts.”
He further highlighted that prophecy is often misunderstood. “God doesn’t give revelation to humiliate anyone but to restore,” the pastor said. He emphasized that inspired prophecy is meant to guide and transform, not embarrass, citing theologian Kenneth Hagin’s description of prophecy as “inspired utterance” rather than dramatic or predictive displays.
Pastor Fatoyinbo concluded by urging believers to pursue spiritual growth through learning and aligning their lives with God’s word. “You weren’t born a born-again Christian; you learn the life of Christ. When you refuse to walk as He walked, you lose results—not because you’re not prayerful, but because you’re still wise in your own eyes,” he said.
