Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has seemingly addressed the wave of criticism trailing her recent encounter with Olori Sekinat Elegushi, wife of Oba Saheed Elegushi, after a video of their interaction at Toke Makinwa’s child’s dedication went viral online.
In the viral clip, Toyin Abraham was seen kneeling to greet the Queen, who remained seated as the actress spoke with her.
The gesture sparked mixed reactions on social media — while some commended Abraham’s show of respect and humility, others questioned the necessity of her action.
Breaking her silence, the award-winning actress took to her Instagram page to drop what appeared to be a subtle response to her critics. Sharing a stunning photo of herself, Toyin wrote:
“I am a rare breed. They’re not supposed to understand me — read that again. Oversabi Aunty hits cinemas Dec 18th!”
The post, which doubled as a promotional plug for her upcoming movie Oversabi Aunty, was widely interpreted as her way of asserting confidence in her individuality and choices despite public criticism.
Celebrities and fans flooded her comment section with words of admiration and support. Ini Edo commented, “Clock it.”
Bolanle Austen Peters praised her, writing, “Rare and special breed.”
Eucharia Anunobi added, “Speak, spark and spoke it again.”
Fans also joined in, with one writing, “That’s the caption! Your type is rare, your heart is gold, your life is simple.”
Another gushed, “World best!! The Queen!! The woman of the year!! Iyalofd!”
Through this post, Toyin Abraham once again showed why she remains one of Nollywood’s most loved and unapologetically authentic stars, proving that criticism cannot dim the light of a “rare breed.”
