Nigerian celebrity power couple, Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola, have candidly opened up about the intense pressure, stress, and disagreements they experienced while planning their weddings, revealing that the process was far more overwhelming than they ever imagined.
In a recent interview, the singer and the fashion entrepreneur disclosed that they organized three destination weddings across three different countries within just three months, a decision that pushed them emotionally and mentally. According to the couple, having multiple ceremonies back-to-back turned what should have been a joyful experience into a demanding and exhausting journey.
Temi Otedola revealed that their initial plan was to keep things simple with a quiet court wedding in Nigeria. However, that idea quickly fell apart due to concerns over privacy. She explained, “Three weddings in three months is insãne. If we went to the courthouse in Nigeria, it wouldn’t be as private as we wanted.” Given their public profiles, the couple feared that a courthouse appearance would attract unnecessary attention and media buzz.
As an alternative, they considered having court officials conduct a private civil wedding inside their living room. While Temi found the idea appealing and intimate, Mr Eazi was not entirely comfortable with the arrangement. The disagreement forced them to rethink their options and return to the planning table once again.
The couple then explored the possibility of getting married in the United Kingdom, but Temi admitted that it lacked emotional connection for her. She explained that although the UK was practical, it didn’t feel personal or meaningful enough to mark such a significant moment in her life.
Eventually, they settled on Monaco for their civil wedding — a decision Temi described as deeply sentimental and more aligned with the intimacy they desired.
Reflecting on the entire experience, Temi shared a powerful realization about marriage. “I thought getting married was just deciding and signing papers. I didn’t know there was a mountain of administration.” Her statement highlights the often-overlooked complexities involved in legal processes, logistics, and planning, especially for high-profile couples.
Despite the stress and disagreements, Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola’s wedding journey ultimately became a story of compromise, understanding, and shared growth — proving that even fairytale romances require patience behind the scenes.
