I Have One Gunshot In My Chest,I Have One In My Knee,My Own Was Double—COAS Gen Shaibu Tells Injured Soldier

Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, has assured injured soldiers receiving treatment in a military hospital that they will get the best possible care and make a full recovery.

In a video shared by ESET TV, General Shaibu was seen speaking directly with one of the wounded soldiers during his hospital visit. Drawing from personal experience, he reminded the soldier that he himself had previously been admitted to the same facility after sustaining gunshot wounds. “You will be okay, my own ward is down there. I have one gunshot here on my chest, I have one in my knee—so my own was double. You will be okay,” he said.

Shaibu emphasized that all injured personnel would receive proper medical attention and encouraged them to remain grateful for their lives despite the traumatic circumstances. His visit reflects the Army leadership’s commitment to the welfare and recovery of its personnel.
