A pastor from Kitui has opened up about the unusual circumstances surrounding his marriage, explaining how he ended up marrying his fiancée’s sister on the day originally set for his wedding.
The pastor grew up in a humble family in Kitui and worked manual jobs to support himself through college, where he studied theology. After graduation, he found employment in the Nairobi/Mlolongo area and joined a local church. Due to his preaching skills and theological knowledge, he was appointed assistant pastor.
After two years, a church member expressed interest in him. They started dating, formally introducing each other to their families and church community. During this period, the pastor’s mother, who was seriously ill, revealed that the fiancée’s elder sister was intended to be his wife, a revelation that surprised him deeply.
Complications arose when the fiancée became pregnant by her ex-boyfriend, confirming the pastor’s mother’s words. After discussing the situation with the elder sister, she agreed to marry him, and the couple tied the knot on the same day originally scheduled for his previous engagement. According to the pastor, the sister has been fully supportive throughout their marriage.
