A pastor from Nairobi has shared his regrets over cheating on his wife early in their marriage, attributing his actions to peer pressure from colleagues in ministry. He now urges pastors and church leaders to remain faithful to their spouses and uphold integrity in their personal and professional lives.
The man, originally from Kitui, explained that months before his wedding, he ended his relationship with his fiancée and began dating her sister. Despite the complicated circumstances, he married his former fiancée’s sister on the day originally set for his wedding.
He grew up in a modest family in Kitui and later studied theology in college, paying his tuition through personal earnings. After graduation, he found employment in the Nairobi/Mlolongo area, joining a local church as an assistant pastor due to his preaching talent and theological knowledge.
Two years into his marriage, he fell under the influence of fellow pastors who encouraged him to take a side relationship. He connected with a woman and maintained the relationship for about a year. The situation became untenable when the woman asked to be formally introduced to his wife. Recognizing the risk to both his marriage and his ministry, he ended the relationship, repented, and committed to faithful living.
Today, he speaks openly about the consequences of infidelity and encourages pastors and married couples to prioritize honesty, commitment, and moral responsibility in their relationships.
