Afrobeats superstar Davido has stirred major conversations online after suggesting that his influential family could easily shift their focus back to their long-established business empire if political tides turn against them.
His comment comes as speculations intensify over the political future of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, following his recent switch to the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The online debate began when an X user, Lurvy, posted about the ongoing drama surrounding Governor Adeleke’s defection.
Another user, Whemimor, responded with a jab, saying:
“If e lose na Davido go compose song for APC during 2027 campaign.”
Davido wasted no time firing back, hinting at the family’s deep financial reserves and long-standing business roots. Quote-tweeting the remark, he wrote:
“Or we can just go back to our multi-billion dollar company …”
The statement quickly gained traction, reinforcing widespread claims that the Adeleke family’s wealth predates their involvement in politics. Many social media users interpreted Davido’s message as a reminder that political wins or losses do not alter the family’s financial stability, which is built on decades of business ventures.
Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke has officially secured the Accord Party’s governorship ticket for the upcoming 2026 election after receiving 145 votes in the party primary. Announcing the results, electoral committee secretary Abdulazeez Salaudeen declared:
“Having the highest number of votes, I declare Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the primary.”
In another development, Kechi Okwuchi, one of only two survivors of the tragic Sosoliso Airlines crash of December 10, 2005, marked the 20th anniversary of the disaster with a heartfelt message. In a video shared on X, she honored the 107 victims and
reflected on her journey to healing.
She said:
“20 years have passed, and some of my memories are not only painful or negative anymore. I have had a lot of amazing experiences because I was able to have a second chance at life that most people on that plane were not able to.”
Kechi recounted the painful aftermath of the crash and her long recovery process. Over the years, she has become a global inspiration — from earning a first-class degree in Economics to becoming a finalist on America’s Got Talent, and later completing an MBA with distinction.
