I’ll continue to give Tinubu’s enemies high blood pressure – Wike vows

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has pledged to continue rolling out infrastructure projects that he says will leave critics of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in perpetual discomfort.

Speaking on Wednesday during the commissioning of Arterial Road N16 and other road projects in Katampe, Abuja—an event attended by President Tinubu—Wike claimed that critics are upset by the visible progress being made in the FCT.

“Sometimes, I don’t know, spiritually I was touched. I turned on the TV and saw people in pain. Now I know they’re pained by our progress,” Wike said.

He then vowed: “I now must make sure I continue to give them high blood pressure… as they continue to be in pain, it’ll be sweetening us.”

Wike’s remarks, while humorous to some, reflect his combative style and fierce loyalty to Tinubu’s leadership. He described the ongoing development in Abuja as a “revolution” and promised to keep delivering projects that showcase the administration’s achievements.

President Tinubu, who commissioned the road linking Shehu Shagari Way (Ring Road 1) to Wole Soyinka Way (Arterial Road N20), praised the FCT’s transformation under Wike’s leadership.
