According to NewsVista political reports, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has declared she will officially resume at the Senate on Tuesday, July 22, despite an ongoing legal appeal by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The lawmaker representing Kogi Central says her court-ordered reinstatement remains valid and insists she’s focused on her duties. “I’ve written to the Senate. By God’s grace, I will be there on Tuesday,” she said while addressing her supporters.
Natasha’s suspension, which stemmed from a dramatic February clash in the Senate chamber, was overturned by a court ruling. But the political battle didn’t stop there—Akpabio is appealing the verdict, and both parties are currently locked in legal fights, demanding billions in damages from one another.
Natasha also described her suspension as a case of gender discrimination, stating that many women in politics are punished for being outspoken. “My case shows what women go through when they dare to challenge the system,” she said.
As the first female senator from Kogi State, Natasha is determined to finish her term strong, no matter the hurdles.
