Invading sovereign nation, just dropping bombs without their buy-in makes absolutely no sense–Adeboye

In a recent address on TVC News, Pastor Enoch Adeboye condemned the idea of foreign military intervention in Nigeria without government consent, stressing that “invading a sovereign nation, just dropping bombs without their buy-in makes absolutely no sense.”

Adeboye warned that unilateral strikes could worsen insecurity, undermine diplomacy, and cause unnecessary casualties, emphasizing that international support must be coordinated with Nigeria’s security agencies. He highlighted that the nation’s armed forces are fully capable of collaborating with foreign partners when properly integrated.

The cleric urged Nigerian leaders to prioritize diplomacy, asserting sovereignty while seeking strategic, coordinated approaches to combat terrorism and insurgency. Adeboye stressed that respecting legal and ethical frameworks is essential to avoid escalating crises and protect citizens.

He concluded that foreign intervention without consultation is not only ineffective but potentially harmful to Nigeria’s stability.
