Ismail Narrates How He Woke Up At His Funeral 6 Times And How Everyone Avoids Him Now

A Tanzanian man, Ismail Aziz, has shared a surprising and emotional account of how being mistakenly pronounced dead on several occasions has caused him to be rejected by those closest to him. His experience, told in an interview with Afrimax, has raised concerns about medical errors, stigma, and the psychological toll of community isolation.

Ismail explained that his ordeal began after a major accident that left him critically injured. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, he was declared dead, leading his family to begin burial arrangements. However, during preparations the following day, he regained consciousness just as he was being placed in a casket — leaving relatives stunned.

In a separate episode, Ismail said he fell seriously ill with malaria and was again mistakenly pronounced dead. During the funeral, he regained consciousness as the ceremony was about to begin, prompting mourners to abandon the scene in fear. He added that similar incidents happened multiple times, often after health emergencies or accidents, and each occurrence further strained his relationship with his community.

Feeling misunderstood and rejected, Ismail chose to live in isolation for his own peace of mind. Even after surviving a snake bite and waking up from a coma during another mistaken pronouncement of death, he says the people around him still believed something supernatural was involved, making reintegration nearly impossible.

His story highlights the impact of fear, misinformation, and medical misunderstanding on vulnerable individuals.
