A Lagos-based hairstylist, identified as Sebastine Timothy, has been killed in the Satellite Town area, reportedly during an armed attack. The incident occurred on Sunday night along Olasanoye Street, shortly after Timothy returned home from work.
According to an anonymous police source, the assailants entered Timothy’s apartment, dispossessed him of his belongings, and reportedly transferred an undisclosed sum from his bank account before shooting him. Neighbours who heard gunshots later discovered his lifeless body.
Separately, an online platform, Confra Naija, suggested the attack may have been cult-related. The report indicated that the assailants, allegedly members of the Eiye confraternity, initially targeted Timothy’s brother, who is linked to a rival group, Aye. When the brother was not at home, the attackers reportedly turned on Timothy, forcing him to transfer money before killing him.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the death but noted discrepancies in reports. “He sustained an injury to the head and died on his way to the hospital. The police cannot yet confirm if it was a gunshot or machete wound,” she said. The family later took Timothy’s body to the mortuary.
