Kano fire service rescues 15-year-old boy from dam

The Kano State Fire Service has rescued a 15-year-old boy who fell into a Dam in Ghari local government area of the state. 

 

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

 

The Public Relations Officer of the Service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday said they received a distress call at about 12:00 pm from a resident, Usman Garba, reporting that a boy had fallen into the water at the dam. 

 

“On Saturday, 13 December 2025, the Kano State Fire Service, under the leadership of Alhaji Sani Anas, received a distress call at about 12:00 pm from Usman Garba, reported an incident at Gari Dam, Gari Local Government Area,” the statement read.

 

“Our men from Gari Fire Station responded promptly to the call. On arrival, they discovered a 15-year-old boy, identified as Yusuf Danliti, who had fallen into an open water.

 

“Victim was rescued unconscious and subsequently handed over to the Village Head of the area, name Lawan Zangina, for further action.

 

“The Director of the Service has advised parents and guardians to be vigilant and closely monitor their children, especially to prevent them from local swimming in open water, as such activities have continued to result in loss of lives.

 

“Kano State Fire Service remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state. Thank you.”
