Lady Tells What She Saw When She Took Her Saudi Bosse’s Baby To Breastfeed In The Bedroom

A woman from Bungoma County, identified as Rose, has opened up about the difficult experiences she faced while working as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia. She says she travelled there hoping to support her single mother and younger siblings, but her time abroad exposed her to tense family conflicts and situations that put her safety at risk.

According to Rose, she was received warmly by the employer’s husband when she arrived, but the atmosphere at home was strained. The wife, who was heavily pregnant at the time, was distant and often in distress due to marital issues. Rose said she once heard her crying and tried to offer comfort, only to discover ongoing disagreements between the couple.

On one occasion, the employer went into medical distress, prompting Rose to seek help urgently. She claimed her attempts to contact the husband were unsuccessful, and the family driver was reluctant to intervene without official permission. With no other option, she used her own savings to ensure the woman was taken to the hospital, where she delivered safely through a medical procedure.

Their relationship improved afterwards, and Rose said the woman eventually confided in her about longstanding challenges she faced within the family. Tensions escalated weeks later when Rose noticed unusual activity around the employer’s room. Shortly after, she learned that her employer had passed away. The family handled the matter internally according to their customs, but the environment became increasingly uncomfortable for Rose.

Feeling unsafe and unsupported, she eventually left the household and sought help through safer channels. Her experience has added to ongoing calls for stronger protection, monitoring, and welfare support for migrant workers abroad.
