A recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics in anticipation of the Kpandai rerun has identified the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Mathew Nyindam, as the leading contender, garnering 50% of voter support.
The poll, which was published on Sunday, December 14, 2025, revealed that the beleaguered Member of Parliament for Kpandai is ahead of his nearest rival, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Daniel Nsala Wakpal, who received 46% of the votes.
Moreover, Donkor Eric Nipani, an independent candidate, is projected to secure 1% of the vote, while 3% of participants indicated that they were undecided.
Despite the close nature of the race, the survey positions Matthew Nyindam slightly in front, with his advantage falling within a ±3.9% margin of error.
The findings suggest minimal vote switching between the two primary candidates. Approximately two per cent of voters who had previously supported Hon. Nyindam have redirected their support to Mr Wakpal.
Concurrently, an equivalent percentage of Mr Wakpal’s backers have shifted their allegiance to Hon Nyindam.
However, the poll indicates a notable change among voters who initially supported Donkor Eric Nipani, with 28% now favouring Mr Nyindam, a shift that has enhanced his overall position.
Regarding Matthew Nyindam’s performance during his brief tenure in the current Parliament, 3% of voters rated him as excellent, while 32% characterised his performance as very good or good.
Additionally, 36% rated his performance as average, with 29% considering it poor or very poor.
In addition to the rerun, the survey also gauged voter sentiments regarding the nation’s trajectory. In total, 66% of voters in the Kpandai constituency feel that Ghana is progressing positively, while 26% believe the country is moving negatively.
Eight per cent expressed that they had no opinion.
Among supporters of the NPP, 37% indicated that Ghana is on the right path, whereas 47% felt it is heading in the wrong direction, and 16% had no opinion.
Conversely, a significant 97% of NDC supporters asserted that the country is moving in the right direction, with three per cent stating it is moving in the wrong direction and one per cent having no opinion.
Additionally, floating voters displayed a similar optimism, with 65% believing that Ghana is on the right track.
