Dr. Gbenga Hashim, presidential aspirant and senior member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has accused certain party members of fueling internal crises while secretly undermining its collective interest.
In an interview with Trust TV, Hashim said the ongoing turmoil within the PDP is largely driven by individuals with divided loyalties and hidden political agendas. “Most of the people creating the problem in the PDP were the ones who campaigned for the sitting president from the PDP,” he revealed, highlighting concerns over internal sabotage.
He explained that these actions have weakened the party’s ability to function effectively as a credible opposition capable of holding the government accountable. Hashim warned that unless urgent steps are taken to restore discipline, unity, and fairness, the PDP risks losing its relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Despite the challenges, Hashim expressed optimism that genuine reforms and leadership renewal could help reposition the party as a strong and credible platform for Nigerians.
