A father of six from Kenya has shared the challenges he faces raising his children alone after his wife passed away, leaving him to care for their youngest child who was born with a disability.
In an interview with Afrimax English, he explained that he met his wife in church, and after a few months of dating, they married. Their marriage was happy, even as they lived modestly and worked manual jobs. Together, they were blessed with five healthy children before welcoming their sixth child, who later developed a serious medical condition.
The youngest child was born seemingly healthy, but as months passed, the family noticed unusual growth in the child’s head. Medical examinations revealed a condition that required urgent and costly treatment. Despite installing a medical device to manage the problem, the child’s health worsened and eventually led to paralysis.
After a short illness, the father’s wife passed away, leaving him solely responsible for all six children. He now struggles to provide for them, relying heavily on support from well-wishers for food and basic needs.
He is appealing to the public for assistance to help establish a small business that will sustain the family and cover medical needs for his disabled child.
