My Wife Lied About a Night Shift, I Gave Her 24 Hours to Explain—You Won’t Believe What Happened Next!

Four days ago, my wife told me she was going for a night shift. Left alone at home with our nine-month-old baby boy, I felt lonely. Since her mother was around to help with the baby, I decided to surprise her at work. It was late, but I wanted to see her because she once mentioned going on break between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. She had also complained about not getting enough sleep, so I thought we could have a drink and relax in the car during her break.

When I got to her workplace, I was informed she wasn’t on a night shift at all. She wasn’t there. I asked the receptionist to double-check, but she confirmed my wife wasn’t on duty that night. I immediately called my wife to find out where she was, but she didn’t answer. Confused and frustrated, I drove home without telling her mother anything. I went straight to bed, angry and restless.

The next morning, she returned home around 8 a.m. and seemed surprised to find me at home. She asked why I hadn’t gone to work, but I didn’t respond. After she had freshened up, I summoned her in front of her mother and asked where she had been. My wife insisted she had been at work.

We started to argue. To settle the matter, I asked her to call her workplace in front of us to confirm her claim. She refused, saying, “If you don’t trust me, I have nothing to prove.” Her refusal only made me more suspicious. Frustrated, I told her mother that if my wife didn’t explain where she had gone, they would both have to leave the house. Then, I walked away.

About an hour later, she came to me, saying she was ready to call her workplace to clear my doubts. By that point, I was convinced she had already arranged for someone to lie on her behalf. I told her not to bother calling anyone and demanded she tell me the truth. I gave her 24 hours to come clean or leave.

When the 24 hours were up, she still refused to explain herself, even after her mother begged her to. Left with no other choice, I sent her out of the house this morning. Now, her mother has called relatives and friends to plead on her behalf, but I remain certain my wife is hiding something.

She didn’t even allow me to check her phone when I asked, which only fuels my suspicion. I know my wife, and I can swear she’s keeping something from me.

Am I wrong for standing my ground? Or am I justified in my actions? What do you think about this situation?
