A man identified as Pastor Joseph from Kirinyaga has shared the painful experience of being betrayed by his wife while serving a prison sentence. Despite the heartbreak, he has chosen to move forward and focus on his children’s wellbeing.
Joseph, a truck driver and founder of several churches across Kenya, was married with three children. During his work transporting goods across the country, a mechanical problem with his truck led to a serious accident that left him injured. Soon after, he was accused of stealing the goods he had transported and sentenced to seven years in prison. Despite his family and church members’ efforts, they were unable to meet the financial requirements needed for his release.
While in prison, Joseph learned that his wife had developed a relationship with his cousin. When he called her, she reportedly hung up and refused to communicate. After one year, he filed an appeal and was released after serving a total of one year and three months. Upon returning home, he discovered that his wife had misled friends and relatives, claiming he was serving a life sentence.
Though his wife admitted to the relationship and asked for forgiveness, Joseph decided to divorce her. He now focuses on raising his three children and hopes to find a partner who will support him and his family.
