The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) said it will investigate the alleged cases of child sexual abuse against Nigerian singer Simi.
The statement came after continued online reactions to old social media posts linked to Simi, whose real name is Simisola Bolatito Kosoko.
In a public notice on Tuesday, NAPTIP said it is aware of the recent public debate and promised to carefully examine any credible reports related to abuse or misconduct involving children in daycare facilities.
The agency asked anyone who has solid information, proof, or personal experience related to the issues mentioned in the viral posts to contact them privately.
It encouraged affected persons or witnesses to send details through its direct message platforms or via email at [email protected].
The statement reads, “Following recent public discussions and concerns raised regarding alleged incidents of child sexual abuse/misconduct in daycare settings in Nigeria, we are committed to thoroughly investigating credible reports.
“We kindly request anyone with factual information, evidence, direct knowledge, or who was personally affected by the matters referenced in the viral posts or related experiences to kindly reach out to us confidentially. Via DM or email us [email protected].”
This move follows criticism sparked by resurfaced old posts from Simi’s X account where she allegedly sexualized a four-year-old boy.
