In a recent statement shared on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Primate Elijah Ayodele expressed optimism about Nigeria’s potential to become a major player in the global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. He highlighted the importance of strategic planning, investment, and leadership in achieving this vision.
Ayodele emphasized that with proper training, infrastructure, and incentives for entrepreneurs, Nigerian youths could develop innovative solutions that meet international standards. He also noted the need for collaboration between government and the private sector to ensure inclusive and sustainable technology growth.
Highlighting the issue of brain drain, Ayodele said that many other countries benefit from Nigeria’s talent. He encouraged policymakers to focus on ICT education, establish incubation centers, and provide resources for startups to retain local talent and drive innovation.
“Nigeria will be one of the best countries in ICT. In three years, it will be a champion,” he stated, adding that technology could accelerate economic growth, create jobs, and reduce dependence on traditional industries.
Ayodele concluded by urging Nigerians to believe in the nation’s potential and actively participate in transforming the ICT sector, stressing that achieving continental leadership requires effort from government, businesses, and citizens alike.
